🏹 Local Clubs Release their Outdoor Schedules

Local clubs and ranges are beginning to release their outdoor tournament schedules. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the Archery community - whether as a participant or a volunteer. Parents can lend a hand before, during, or after tournaments to help make these events successful. Check with your local club for details!

🏹 Sanlida World Archery Rankings for April

World Archery has released its first Sanlida World Rankings for the 2025 season. Here are your top-ranked Archers:

  • Recurve Women: Lim Sihyeon (Korea)

  • Recurve Men: Kim WooJin (Korea)

  • Compound Women: Ella Gibson (Great Britain)

  • Compound Men: Mike Schloesser (Netherlands)

These athletes continue to set the standard in Archery excellence.

🏹 Coaching Changes at Archery GB 

Ron Van der Hoff, formerly Canada’s National Coach Advisor for its recurve team, has joined Archery GB as their new National Team Advisor. Ron’s contributions to Canada’s program were transformative, bringing innovative strategies and elevating the team’s performance on the international stage. His move to Archery GB promises exciting growth and development as they prepare for LA 2028.

Congratulations to Ron and Archery GB!

🏹 The Best April Fool’s Day Posts

Archery-related April Fool’s Day posts brought some humor to social media this week:

  • RamRods announced a no-stabilizer system.

  • USA Archery will be implementing drones for scoring and arrow retrieval.

  • Archery GB is promoting a new Swim Archery program.

  • A square target design will be “introduced” worldwide.

These lighthearted posts remind us to be fun and enjoy!

🏹 The Harbinger of the Outdoor Season is Underway in Phoenix

The Arizona Cup is underway at the Ben Avery Shooting Center near Phoenix, marking the 36th running of this event. This year’s competition serves as:

  • A USAT Series Qualifier.

  • Stage 1 of USA Team Trials for the 2025 World Archery Championships in Gwangju, Korea (September 5–12).

🏹 Canada’s National Events Calendar

Canada is gearing up for its outdoor season with several exciting events:

  • Canada Cup West & CanWest Youth Cup: Calgary, Alberta (May 30–June 1).

  • Canada Cup East: Caledon, Ontario (June 14–16).

  • Canadian Nationals: Lac La Biche, Alberta (August).

March also saw Canada’s first ASA Indoor Championships in Brandon, Manitoba, featuring over 170 competitors—a promising start to the season!

🏹 Hyundai Archery World Cup Stage 1 Begins in Auburndale, Florida, April 8-13

The inaugural Hyundai Central Florida World Cup kicks off April 8–13 in Auburndale, Florida. This event marks the start of qualifying for the World Cup Final in Nanjing, China (October 18–19). Stage winners and consistent performers will secure spots at the final and compete for a share of the CHF 400,000 prize fund.
